Three House of Representatives members on the platforms of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Imo State have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The three lawmakers that defected to the ruling party are PDP duo Bede Eke representing Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency, Ikenna Elezieanya representing Owerri Municipal/Owerri North/Owerri West Federal Constituency and APGA’s and Emeka Nwawuba representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency.

On Tuesday, at the official declaration of the lawmakers held at the Ndubuisi Kanu Square in Owerri, the trio said their reason for decamping to APC was due to the leadership qualities and achievements of Governor Hope Uzodimma in the last three and a half years.

Chairman of APC in Imo, Macdonald Ebere, in his welcome address, described the decision taken by the lawmakers as the best.

Ebere also presented the symbol of the party to the defectors.

The lawmakers promised to support governor Uzodimma’s administration as he seeks a second term in office.
