Set against the backdrop of contemporary Nigerian family living in the diaspora, the story follows Luna, a young girl challenging societal norms to pursue her passion for crafting and building.

Olasumbo Wright, the talented author and illustrator, brings Luna’s world to life with vividly detailed drawings that capture the essence of each moment in Luna’s journey. The illustrations not only complement the narrative but also add an extra layer of charm and visual appeal to the storytelling.

Wright’s educational background in Creative Arts from the University of Lagos shines through in her ability to create visually stunning and engaging illustrations. Her Master’s degree in Marketing Communications and Branding from the Edge Hill University, United Kingdom adds a strategic touch to her storytelling, ensuring the narrative resonates with both children and adults alike.

The award-winning author, honoured as the Best Overall in Magic from the Orange Academy Lagos in the IBX9 (Integrated Brand Experience 9), brings a unique blend of artistic flair and marketing expertise to the world of children’s literature. Her commitment to excellence is evident in the meticulously crafted illustrations that grace the pages of Luna’s adventurous tale.

According to Wright, ‘Luna’s Spaceship Idea’ is not just a story; it’s a beautifully illustrated journey crafted to inspire children, especially girls, to pursue careers in STEM fields—science, technology, engineering, art, and math.


The author narrative goes beyond gender and race, encouraging all children to utilise their imaginations to discover creative solutions to problems.
