Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, yesterday, admonished the Muslim faithful to resist every temptation that could lead them to the bad behaviour they have abandoned during the Ramadan period. He gave this charge while addressing journalists at the Muslim Praying Ground in Ede, his country home.

The governor, who had participated in the Eid prayer, received a rousing welcome from his kinsmen and women who thronged the open field. Adeleke urged the Muslims to abide by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and honour the dictates of Allah.

In the same vein, the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) has urged the Muslim faithful to maintain their commitment to purity and sanctity, which is observed during Ramadan and avoid engaging in risky sexual behaviours.

Director-General of NACA, Dr Temitope Ilori, who appealed in her Sallah message in Abuja, said that by adhering to Islamic teachings and practising abstinence or safe sexual practices, individuals could safeguard themselves and their partners from the transmission of HIV/AIDS and other sexually-transmitted infections.

She reaffirmed NACA’s dedication to promoting health, well-being, and inclusivity for all communities, irrespective of faith or background.

The NACA boss, while emphasising the significance of this auspicious occasion, highlighted its role not only in concluding a period of fasting, prayer, and introspection but also in fostering unity, compassion, and generosity within the Muslim community and beyond.
