LASUTH recognises workers for academic excellence, discourages brain drain

The management of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) has recognised members of staff of the hospital for excellence and promote efforts to discourage brain drain.

Chief Medical Director, LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo, who gave the recognition during a ceremony in Lagos, said that the workers’ positive contributions had redefined the organisation in the place of exceptional works to the state and nation at large.

He lauded Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for ensuring sufficient funding and approvals for all the hospital’s initiatives, noting that some of theare donor-driven.


Fabamwo, who noted efforts by the medical facility to tackle brain drain through implementation of the exit replacement programme, aimed at replacing members of staff and ensuring an uninterrupted flow of services, added: “We are striving to make the hospital a leading advanced tertiary healthcare provider in Africa.”

Similarly, Director, Clinical Services and Training, Prof. Adebowale Adekoya, stressed the crucial role that healthcare professionals play in advancing the industry.

Adekoya, while praising the awardees for their achievements, encouraged them to sustain their pursuit of academic excellence as well as diligently carrying out their duties of saving lives and maintaining high standards of healthcare.
