Former Governor of Edo State and senator-elect, Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, yesterday, accused Governor Godwin Obaseki administration of failing to enthrone true democracy in the state.
Oshiomhole, who made the remarks in a thank-you message to the people of his constituency, also canvassed support for all APC candidates ahead of the state assembly elections.
“I want to use this opportunity to remind you all that the job is not complete yet. While I appreciate the massive support all APC candidates received in the February 25 election, which resulted in 100 per cent victory for all our candidates in Edo North, I sincerely appeal to you to come out, even in larger numbers, and with more determination, to vote for all APC
House of Assembly candidates in the rescheduled Saturday March 18, 2023 election.
“Please do not be dissuaded by rumours being peddled by enemies of democracy, that there will be violence in Edo State during the March 18 House of Assembly election.
“The intention is to scare our people away from the polling booths so that the choice of the majority will be truncated. I want to assure you that our security agencies are up to the task of ensuring the safety of all those who come out to vote.”
He assured them their votes would not be tampered with, stressing that they would be counted and that they would count in the in the choice of who will represent the state in the state House of Assembly.
