Snazzy the Optimist Introduces Fresh Sound with New Tune ‘Asa’

Snazzy the Optimist kicks off the year with a new tune set to redefine the Nigerian music scene. The track was produced by the South African Award-winning producer Eternal Africa, a platinum record producer whose credentials boast collaborations with music industry heavyweights like Orlando Julius, Honorebel, Snoop Dog, DJ Neptune, Patoranking, just to mention a few.


“Asa” is a fusion of traditional Igbo flute, known as Oja, and Amapiano, creating a sound that’s both nostalgic and fresh. Sung within the middle vocal range primarily in English, Igbo and Zulu with high falsetto riffs, the song showcases Snazzy’s vocal versatility, effortlessly weaving between languages.

Backed by a rich instrumental arrangement featuring the piano, synths and heavy percussions. Asa comprises of Snazzy’s appealing vocals, a great combination of appealing vocals, falsetto riffs and rare non lexical infectious melodies that has never been heard of before, as great melodies often use repeating elements, Snazzy who is known for his unique incorporation of groove and African popular music delivered a fresh tone that is up for future musical samples.


Currently dominating the airwaves, “Asa” is set to propel Snazzy into new beginnings. “Asa” is receiving significant airplay both domestically and internationally, and is encountering a major challenge on social media, where it’s gaining traction and being widely used by people.

“Asampetempe Asa’m, Asa just dey carry me go, Asampetempe Asa’m, Asa just dey carry me go, Asa!!” he sings. He continued with the melodies fused with a break where his falsetto shines through. “Asa” is an original sound, it’s uniqueness leaves you craving for more. With each listen, you can’t help but hit the replay button.

Snazzy is a native of Imo State. He started off his career as a rapper, covering popular songs before transitioning fully into singing. After high school graduation in 2018, he moved to Lagos the following year. A trained musician, he is an alumnus of Tenstrings Music Institute now known as International College of Creative Arts incorporated in the United Kingdom and Nigeria. “Asa” is just the beginning of Snazzy’s ascent to musical stardom.
