Tosin Bee urges upcoming gospel artistes to fear God, strive for excellence

A gospel artiste, Tosin Bee, also known as Adejumobi Oluwatosin has advised upcoming Nigerian gospel musicians to fear God in all they do, keep His commandments and always strive for excellence.

Tosin Bee who is preparing for Testimony Tour 2024, disclosed this recently during his interaction with newsmen.

Fielding questions on his musical career, the gospel minister whose passion for music started about 24 years ago, said: “It is not a childhood dream, though the gift has been there as an innate ability, which I later developed. As I grow, I begin to realise my calling and I have to use
it as an instrument of worship to God, and also for the kingdom agenda of spreading the gospel.”

Speaking on what inspired him into music, Tosin Bee noted that it was his drive for excellence.

“Definitely, my drive for excellence and most importantly, because our God is a God of excellence, always doing good, so anything I present to Him must be good,” he said.

On the challenges faced while trying to navigate, Tosin Bee said: “Well, having the right environment for growth in my field was a problem, also financial challenges. Moving from a familiar terrain (Ilorin) to an unfamiliar terrain (Lagos) was another.”

He described his type of music as a fusion of tungba/alujo music (African percussive music known among the Yoruba in Nigeria) and contemporary gospel.

The gospel artiste who said he is friendly to everybody, also disclosed how he handles advances from female fans.

“Tthere are boundaries that I have put in place between my female fans and I. This to avoid moves that can mess up the ministry God has given to me,” he said.

On the new projects he is currently working on and his collaboration with other gospel artistes, Tosin Bee who joined the Redeemed Campus Fellowship (RCF) as a choir member on campus, said he would soon drop some new songs as part of an EP. He also said he is collaborating with some of gospel artistes, such as Prinx Emmanuel; Mr. M and Miracle; Adeyinka Alaseyori; Neon Adejo, among others.

On his favourite song, he loves to perform, Tosin Bee said: “That will be “I have to tell the world.” The song talks about being vocal about God’s goodness. Sharing the testimony of God’s goodness to the world.”
